My Westendorf

Customer Testimonials

I currently own a WL-42 front-end loader, which is on a 185 Allis Chalmers tractor. I would like to state that this is the finest loader I have ever seen. This thing is incredibly easy to install/remove I cannot imagine owning any other loader.

I bought a TA-28 Plus, and we installed it ourselves. It went on very easy, and we were very impressed with the instructions. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

I have a 60" version of the Rear-Ender Auto-Dump on my YM2000 for a few years.  It works great for the investment.  I have spread and leveled gravel, dug drainage reliefs on field edges, and it really works great for moving snow.  Add a hydraulic stop link (high lifter kit) and it becomes a heck of a machine.

I'm 71 years old and have farmed all my life. Over the years I have owned 24 Westendorf gears, 2 front-end loaders, and a grapple fork. I trust Westendorf--they are built real heavy duty.

I had a few moments and thought I would take some time to let you know that we have been VERY pleased with the performance of our Westendorf canopy to date. I have to admit, when it first went on the tractor I had some serious concerns; but, here it is almost three months later, over hay fields, primary tillage, and just downright hot Central Michigan weather, and the Cool Cap™ has earned its stripes and my respect. Yes, I am a proud owner of a Cool Cap™ and am pleased to be seen on the tractor in the field sporting it. I feel that we will be getting many good years of service from our Cool Cap™, and we made the correct decision regarding the purchase of your product.

I ordered the Freedom Mount loader with the New Cat Claw grapple. I use it mostly hauling hay and stock bales – haven’t moved a lot of brush yet, but it worked well on a couple cedar trees I removed from the fence line.   The Cat Claw is excellent, and I can even dismount my loader without having to remove the grapple. It works great for large round bales; I even pick up two stock bales at one time and take them to the cattle yard saving myself multiple trips.

Years ago my brother owned a WL-40, and we’d use that in our farming operation daily. When I bought my own farmstead, I needed to get myself a loader tractor. I had an IH 1086 and put a brand new WL-42 on that tractor in 1980. I’ve been using that loader every day since. I decided it was time to upgrade, and I wanted a Westendorf so I took a look at the FM-560 loader and was sold. All I needed to do was find a tractor to match it. I really like the looks of the loader; it’s a modern loader for a modern tractor. The day the tractor and loader were delivered, my son, Philip, liked it too; he took his girlfriend out for a cruise around the section. Over the years I had to replace a cylinder in my WL-42, the new Freedom Mount loader’s hydraulic fittings are a real good improvement over the threaded fittings – it saved a lot of time wrenching on hoses. I like the new swivel fittings it eliminates twisted hoses.

Attention all farmers and ranchers, if you want a fantastic loader that slides on and off quickly, Westendorf is the loader for you. I have used a WL-42 for years, parted with it, and got me a John Deere 740…biggest mistake I ever made! The 740 don't slide off like the Westendorf models, and I will be trading or selling my tractor with the 740 on it and getting a Westendorf to replace it. The 740 is a joke the way it comes on and off, and I can't wait to have a Westendorf on the farm again! Just another satisfied Westendorf loader customer. Keep up the great job. Yours truly, Phil.

23 Years I've had my WL-42 loader for 23 years and haven't had to ever put a weld on it!

In my opinion, the best improvement to come along in attachments is the Stack Saver.  I stack large round bales three high in my hay shed and had lots of trouble with the top bale sticking and not wanting to come off the bale stabber.  Now with the Stack Saver, I put the top bale on the stack and push it off the stabber while I back up the tractor.  It has saved me an unknown amount of time and a lot of bad words.

I absolutely LOVE my TA loader. I'm truly pleased with the performance, more than I actually expected. My neighbor and I have 24 acres that we're putting fence around, and if it wasn't for that loader, we'd never get it done. It hauls our barb wire, fence posts, bags of cement and all the tools. Plus, we use it for stretching and tightening the fences. It is invaluable! It is doing bigger jobs than I ever thought possible. The first day I used my loader - I transported full length telephone poles, several large trees and additional miscellaneous items around the farm. The canopy I purchased with the loader has really been a blessing, it keeps me out of the weather while I'm brush-hogging the pastures and mowing the yard.

I was a big hay farmer at one time. I owned both a IH 686 with a 2250 IH loader and another with a John Deere 146 loader. We needed another loader tractor for sharecropping so in looking around,  I bought a new TA-26 Westendorf and put it on an IH 826. In the long run the Westendorf loader is the best, hands down.  I decided to retire and had to sell out.  I sold six tractors and many pieces of equipment.  My old 826 and Westendorf loader is NOT for sale.  I have had it about 10 years and not spent anything on the loader and there are no welds on it.  I am very well satisfied.
